What goes into it
Every quotation lists this, so you can compare like for like. How prices are worked out →
| Part | LINEA standard | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Sheet steel | 1.6 mm (16 g) TATA Galvano, 120 GSM zinc | Gauge gives stiffness; zinc protects against rust. |
| Frame & mullions | Laser-cut, CNC-folded, tab-located | Square corners and straight frames that fit the opening. |
| Hinges | 3 hinges welded on the jamb (2–4 on request) | Ready for your carpenter to hang the shutter. |
| Fixing | Hold-fasts welded, grouted in | Frame locked into the masonry. |
| Finish | Zinc-rich at every weld + epoxy primer | Welds are where rust starts — each one is treated. |

Good to know
Are steel door frames termite-proof?
Yes — termites do not eat steel. That is the main reason Kerala homes are replacing wooden frames with galvanised steel frames, which also do not swell or shrink in the monsoon.
Will my wooden door shutter fit a steel frame?
Yes. The frame is made to the opening size from your plan, with the hinges welded on the side you choose. Your carpenter fixes the shutter to the hinges and fits the lock and handle.
How many hinges come with a door frame?
Three hinges welded on the jamb is our standard for a normal door; we can fit two or four. Tell us the hinge side (left or right, seen from the opening side) — it is shown on the drawing.
Do door frames have a bottom bar?
Our standard frame is 3-sided — the jambs go into the floor finish and a temporary spreader keeps them parallel until grouted. A low 20 mm threshold is available for bathrooms and sit-outs.
When should I order door frames and windows?
Steel door frames and window frames are fixed while the walls go up, with hold-fasts grouted into the masonry. Send us the plan at the foundation stage so frames are ready before the masons reach sill and lintel level.
